DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision within the Jokerst Group in the Aiiso Yufeng Li Family Department of Chemical and Nano Engineering at UC San Diego, the research technician will use imaging to monitor and predict disease. The research will involve using ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging of human subjects.
QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. degree or higher in biomedical engineering, chemistry, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of medical and scientific terminology.

Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal supervision.

Good judgment to know when to ask for assistance from supervisor in cases where regulations, policies and procedures are not clear.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Research experience in light-tissue interactions, optics, and/or spectroscopy.
- Experience with in vivo optical imaging and image processing.
- An academic background that includes coursework in chemistry, biophotonics and medical imaging.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel for work.
