Dr. Engleman was a lecturer at UCSD from 1996-2001 for CENG 124A/B, Chemical Plant and Process Design, which covers the principles of chemical process design and economics, process flow diagrams and cost estimation.

Five engineering graduate students from the University of California, San Diego who are working to improve human health and better understand the biological world through engineering have been named 2015 Siebel Scholars.

Third year Chemical Engineering Ph.D. candidate Suchol Savagatrup won the 2014-2015 competitive scholarship from Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Program of $7,500.

Ms. Soracha Thamphiwatana is the first NanoEngineering Ph.D. student to pass the dissertation defense. The defense on "Antimicrobial Nanotherapeutics Against Helicobacter Pylori Infection" was presented on August 6, 2014. Ms.

The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship is a highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported disciplines.  Tim O'Connor is working in Prof.

Adam Printz with Prof. Lipomi's lab "Best of both worlds: Conjugated polymers exhibiting good photovoltaic properties and high tensile elasticity"  received Best Poster for NanoEngineering Department and Laura Andersen with Prof.

NanoEngineering PhD student Aliaksandr Zaretski with Professor Lipomi's research lab wins the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for his project on the green fabrication of graphene sheets and the use of graphene to encapsulate particles in "nanoaquariums" for microscopic visualization.

Due to high demand, ALL engineering majors at the Jacobs School have been designated as oversubscribed and have been granted impacted status.
