B.S. Chemical Engineering

At UCSD, Chemical Engineering is an ABET-accredited interdisciplinary program housed within the NanoEngineering Department. The Chemical Engineering Program is made of faculty from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the Department of Bioengineering and the Department of Bioengineering. The program is currently administered by the MAE department. The curricula at both the undergraduate and graduate levels are designed to support and foster chemical engineering as a profession that interfaces engineering and all aspects of basic sciences (physics, chemistry, and biology).
Beginning Fall 2008, the Department of NanoEngineering will take over administration of the B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. Until further notice, advising services for the Chemical Engineering Program will be provided by the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Student Affairs Office.

B.S. NanoEngineering

A new undergraduate degree program in NanoEngineering is under development and is expected to debut in Fall 2010 (estimate). Until the degree proposal is accepted and finalized, we are unable to offer guidance on required courses.
