Study Shows Thin Hair is Stronger Than Thick Hair

NanoEngineering professor, Marc Meyers, along with his group and a group from UC Berkeley, collected hair samples from numerous mammals, including humans, to study their characteristics. Results showed that most hairs share similar structures but differ in how they break, indicating thin hair to be stronger than thick hair. The researchers hope their findings could help with improving synthetic materials.
