Congratulations to Shaochen Chen's research group for recently receiving two grants,

one from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), another from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The NIH project is on the development of biomimetic tissue models using 3D bioprinting and human induced pluripotent stem cell. In the NSF project, the Chen group will  create a new class of nanostructured biological scaffolds that exhibit a negative Poisson’s ratio, and study their ability to modulate the stem cell's shape, adhesion, proliferation and cytoskeletal re-orientation.
