Christian Peter Deck wins NanoEngineering Best Poster at 2008 Research EXPO

The UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering 27th Annual Research Expo was held Thursday, February 21, 2008. More than 240 students presented their research results in the poster session; 13 posters were submitted in the NanoEngineering category. Congratulations to Christian Peter Deck (Advisor: Kenneth Vecchio), winner of the NanoEngineering section, for “MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF MATS OF WELL-ALIGNED MULTI-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBES”. Prof. Kenneth Vecchio Named Chair of NanoEngineering

Professor Ken Vecchio has been named Chair of the newly established Department of NanoEngineering at the Jacobs School. In this role as chair, Ken will lead the development of an innovative first-of-its-kind educational program that will develop in phases and serve 400 undergraduate and 120 graduate students when it reaches steady state.
